Epilepsy affects more than 22,000 children and adults in Idaho (close to 3 million Americans across the United States), and remains one of the most misunderstood neurological disorders in the world. 1 in 10 Americans will have a seizure within their lifetime, often someone with whom we’re familiar!
Why support the Epilepsy Foundation of Idaho?
When you give to the Epilepsy Foundation of Idaho, your contribution stays in Idaho! Every donation is wisely and efficiently spent, and is appreciated by countless members of the “Idaho Epilepsy Family.”
The Epilepsy Foundation of Idaho is unique because there is no other agency providing education to the community about epilepsy in our state. The Epilepsy Foundation has initiated several exciting programs that assist individuals from all walks of life, and our now-famous iterations of Camp Spirit! are wonderful examples of the excellence and commitment we bring to families affected by epilepsy.
Camp Spirit! Day Camp is for children ages 6–18 to gather on the second Saturday of the month for activities like bowling, miniature golf, crafts, lunch and so much more. For some campers this is the only time they get to be away and do an activity without a parent or guardian.
Camp Spirit! Family Camp is a multi-day camp held in beautiful McCall, Idaho, during the last weekend of July. Our Family Camp is very unique, in that children, teens and adults alike get the opportunity to interact with other siblings and people in their age group who may be experiencing the same circumstances and emotional challenges living with epilepsy. Parents get a rare chance to share their stories, ask questions, and interact with other like-minded (or more experienced) caregivers in a safe and highly-supportive environment.
