Camp Spirit! Youth Camp was held the last weekend of July in McCall, and was a great success for campers and mentors alike. Check out our Facebook page for all the photos. We hope you’ll join us next summer!

Camp Spirit! offers young people a chance to spend time away from home, participate in a variety of recreational activities and make new friends. Camp Spirit! is a camp for young people who are living with the challenges of epilepsy. Whether you have epilepsy, have a sibling or parent who has epilepsy, or your best friend, boyfriend or girlfriend has epilepsy—this camp is for you. This is your chance to have fun, meet new friends and learn more about epilepsy. Camp Spirit! is fun and safe, and combines a traditional camp experience with the security of a professionally-trained medical staff.

Camp Spirit! is a program for Campers age 13 to 17 years old and Camp Mentors ages 18-25. Activities will be designed according to age group and all ages will work together on an Epilepsy Awareness project. Adult staff comprised of EFI staff members, medical professionals and EFI volunteers will run camp activities and be assigned to each group. Adult to camper ratio will be 1 to 5.

The 2011 camp was held at the Quaker Hill Camp in beautiful McCall, Idaho. The camp features dorm-style living, a community dining room, lots of open space for play and easy access to Payette Lake. Activities varied from canoeing, boating, crafting, hiking, swimming, outdoor games and more! We also worked on an Epilepsy Awareness project that will be used throughout the year.

Safety considerations are of the utmost concern to The Epilepsy Foundation of Idaho. The Camp Spirit! staff is trained in seizure recognition, first aid for seizures and CPR. The camp staff includes a medical team and highly-qualified camp counselors.

Camp Spirit! Youth Camp has been generously funded by sponsors and donors. All interested campers and camp mentors are required to fill out an application. Applications will be reviewed by the camp committee and scholarships will be awarded to as many campers and mentors as possible.
